The Selection Movie Dream Cast

 AMERICA SINGER  

Holland Roden  

I have seen and loved Holland Roden as Lydia on the show Teen Wolf and think she would be able to capture America’s character well. She looks the part and is a little older that America in the book, but if there’s one thing I know about movies is that they always cast older. She is my #1 choice for America and it would be so cool for her to be in the movie.    

Sara Hay

I’ve actually have never seen Sara act but she was nominated In the Golden Globes awards in 2015 and she does ballet which will help with the elegant princess look and ballroom dancing. She’s 38 but she looks younger than she is, and she is known for Black Swan and Flesh and Bones.

 Helena Barlow  

I saw Helena Barlow as Ron and Hermione’s daughter in the Deathly Hallows Part 2 epilogue, which is why she stuck in my head as an actor to remember because even though she didn’t have any lines she was casted  in a really huge film as a really important role that any red headed girl could have gotten, but she did. May also wouldn’t have many lines but I think she has the look and age of her.

Gerad singer 

Emjay Anthony 

I saw Emjay Anthony in Insurgent and was so excited when he was casted for Hector. He seems perfect for the role of a little boy who just wants to play sports. He doesn’t have red hair which i’m not sure Gerad does but I think he could still  be good for the role.  

America’s Mother  

Jessica Chastain 

I saw Jessica Chastain in The Help and loved her performance, I then looked her up on iMDb,discovered she had read hair, and knew she would be perfect for the role of America’s mom. She’s only 38 and seems like a nice lady.

Celeste Newsome

Mila Kunis 

She has been in Jupiter Ascending and Black Swan and could play Celeste’s fierce character well. She also looks the part and close in age.

 Halston Sage 

I have seen Halson Sage in Papertowns and she is also in the Bling ring with Emma Watson. She has blonde hair like Marlee and is young enough to continue doing 4 Selection movies since The Heir may have a movie too.

 Emilia Clarke 

She is known from Game of Thrones but I think she looks just like I imagined Kriss. She will aslo be in the movie Me Before you with Sam Claflin. She also seems to have a friendly, kind nature.

Lily James   

I’ve seen Lily James in Fast Girls and Cinderella and think she did a great job in both movies. She looks and is similar in age to Natalie and  has experience at being a princess in training  from Cinderella!

Arden Cho  

I’ve seen Arden Cho in Teen Wolf but also found from iMDb that she was already casted as Elise for the failed Selection TV show, which means they might recast her and we have a chance! She looks the part and plays a really kind sensitive character in Teen Wolf like Elise. She also sings on her YouTube Chanel which is super cool!

Looking for Alaska Director

John Green’s third movie Looking For Alaska finally has a Director!!!! Rebecca Thomas has directed the movie electrik children and short films.  The script for the movie has already been written and John Green seems to be very excited about the movie because he wrote this in a recent blog post “But I find myself now actually excited about the movie … Becca gets Alaska–she wrote me this letter that just made it clear to me that she gets it way deep down, and if you’ve seen her movie Electrick Children you’ll know she has a really cool visual imagination. I am not by nature optimistic, but I think it could be a really great movie. The Selection has been bought for movie rights by Warner Brothers! After an attempt at a TV show that was never aired, we will still be able to see this fantastic book on screens. Katie Lovejoy, the writer of the TV show Blacklist, is set to direct the movie.  Also, DiNovi Pictures Studios will we producing the movie and have also produced The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and If I Stay. I can’t wait to find out more about the movie and who’ll be casted. I will keep you notified on any other updates and maybe create a Selection dream cast. JUNE IPARIS 

Hailee Steinfeld

 I would love for Hailee Steinfeld to play June in the movie! She has the exact physical appearance that I had imagined while reading the book and is only 18. She also has some experience in action films because she was in Ender’s Game, 3 Days to Kill,  and True Grit. Even though she has never done any major stunts I think she would be able to handle it and is a very talented actress.

Isabelle Fuhrman 

My second actor that I would like to play June is Isabell Fuhrman, who I would be equally happy to be casted. She did an amazing job in The Hunger Games as Clove and is also known for her role in Orphan. She is only 17 and has had great success but would be a perfect fit for June physically and personality  wise.    

DAY 

Samuel Tan

I first saw Samuel Tan in his small role in the Hunger Games where he does fighting stunts but he has also has acted in After Earth starring Will Smith. He has the appearance of Day since he’s part Asian and has long hair that could be dyed blond. He does amazing stunts and would be a good representation of Day. Ryan Potter

I found interest in Ryan Potter after searching for Asian male actors to play Day when I saw this picture of him and thought he captured Days mysteriousness and boldness well, and is only 19. Later I saw the movie Big Hero 6 where he is the voice of the main character Hiro which I enjoyed. I looked him up on IMDb and found that he is trained White Tiger Kung Fu and other martial arts which would be helpful for playing Day.

Xihuaru Kilcher

What drew my attention to Xihuaru Kilcher was his obviously unique appearance that fits Day’s perfectly.But aside from his looks he also has done action sequences in some movies, and is only 14. He’s better known in the movie The Power of Few and is the brother of  Q’Orianka and Kainoa Kilcher

Tess 

Mackenzie Foy

Mackenzie was first in Breaking dawn as Bella and Edward’s daughter and she did a good job acting innocent and sweet yet mature for her age, like Tess. I also really imagined  Tess looking like Mackenzie and she has been in other great films such as Interstellar and The Conjuring.

 Katlyn Mager

I was astounded by Katlyn Ager’s performance in the Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters film as the young Thalia Grace (one of my favorite characters in the series!) and thought she did a better job than the older Thalia Grace, even with her short time on the screen.  She also appears in an episode in the Supernaturals. She would be good at portraying Tess’s sweet yet strong character and has brown hair and eyes.

Alisha Newton

I also first saw Alisha Newton in the Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters film and was impressed by her performance at playing the young Annabeth. She would also be able to play Tess’s friendly and protective character, and is only 14. Day also always stresses how big and brown Tess’s eyes are and I think Alisha Newton portrayed  that well.

 Isabelle Allen

I first saw Isabelle Allen in Les Miserables, which she is known for, and was amazed at her performance. She’s now only 13 and has played a innocent yet fierce and mentally strong character before in Les Miserabes. Since Tess doesn’t do many stunts the actor for her won’t have to be very experienced with that. She’s also set to star in the thriller movie Let’s Be Evil this year.

Kaede 

 

Kaya Scodelario

I have always admired Kaya Scoldelario and know she would be a perfect pick to play Kaede. She is only 23 and has appeared in The Maze Runner, The TV show skins, and Clash of the Titans. She has dark hair like Kaede is described to have and could portray her fierce yet reliable character.

 

 Eden 

 Nico Liersch

Though Nico Liersch has been in mostly been in German or German based films like The Book Thief, Kokowaah 2, and Blackout I think he could play Eden’s childlike and determined character. The also has white blond hair though its not curly and is only 15.

 KAEDE

Isabelle Fuhrman

As Isabelle Fuhrman would be a phenomenal June, she could also be a great Kaede  since she has played villainous characters in Orphan and The Hunger Games.  I would really love for her to be in this movie as you can tell!

Maggie Q

Maggie Q would probably be my first choice for Kaede because she is older and more experienced with stage fighting and acting. She was in Divergent and many action TV shows.
